Eunice & Peter | Prospect Park, Brooklyn, NY | October '10
November 30, 2010 I've known about Peter but never got to know him until recently. I recalled always observing his musical talent and stage presence from a distance, whether it was back in the days of college a cappella or in the numerous bands he's played with through the past decade. So when I had the chance to finally meet up with Peter and Eunice as their photographer, I knew of two things: 1. Peter is a good catch. 2. Eunice must be the same. I was right. Their love is clearly evident in the way they treat one another and in the people around them. So much, that I've never seen a groom so emotional!
Their wedding turned out to be one of the clearest fall days in October. Eunice and Peter decided to hold the ceremony at the Grecian Shelter in Prospect Park, a quaint and fairly undiscovered version of a mini-Parthenon on the southern part of the park. The sunlight cleared the still-lush treetops and streamed through the columns of the Shelter, giving it a glow from within. Eunice and Peter didn't want a traditionally laid-out ceremony, so they came up with the idea of a cruciform seating plan with facing seats, a central stage, and two opposing procession aisles for the bridesmaids and groomsmen to walk down. The pairs would meet in the middle and fan out. It was different and awesome. Components like a unity plant, bikes for guests to cycle from the Grecian Shelter to the cocktail hour, and potted herbs for favors were all thoughtful details of a very well-planned wedding. I had the opportunity to work with Minnow Park as my second photographer, who captured some great moments.
The reception was held under a tent at the Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture, an unpretentious and historically dignified venue facing Prospect Park. Congratulations to a couple full of life!

These last few are from Minnow Park!
