Preview: Christina + Matthew's Wedding | Quonquont Farm, MA
May 16, 2012 Keep it simple, bucolic, and natural! That was the vision I sought after several Boston-to-NY calls with Christina. Upon arrival in Amherst, MA for their getting-ready shots, I discovered how effortless Christina + Matthew were to work with. They were good communicators and it made my job easy. After having recently completing an International Center of Photography course on environmental portraiture, I sought out on a mission to capture the homestead and its attendees with an editorial essence, perhaps departing ever so slightly from my staunch adherence to the 'photojournalistic' style. The results? Awesome.
I also got to finally take out the high-demand (and still unavailable!) Nikon D800 with its super 36 megapixel sensor. I'm normally not a guy who leans on numbers to justify means, but the camera was simply incredible to shoot with. I didn't have to do much editing or recovery on these teasers - in fact, some are just straight off the camera with just slight adjustments.
Congratulations, Christina + Matthew! It was a beautiful day!
